Chelsea are reportedly pursuing the £20million transfer of Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda.
The Blues know that John Terry isn't getting any younger and will need replacing in the not too distant future.
Despite the former England captain's excellent form last season, Jose Mourinho does not want to take any chances.
He has therefore turned his attention to the 30-year-old Brazilian who has proven himself to be a top defender, according to the Telegraph.
The centre-back is thought to cost in the region of £20m.
