Al Qassimi Hospital
The Sharjah police are currently searching for a Nigerian building guard who is believed to be the father of a baby delivered by an unmarried Ethiopian woman at a local hospital.
The woman, 28, gave birth to a baby girl and doctors at Al Qassimi Hospital, one of the more popular hospitals in the United Arab Emirates, reported her to the police after discovering she is not married.
Newspapers said the woman also absconded from her sponsor nearly nine years ago and was working with other employers in violation of local labour laws.
They said police are hunting for the Nigerian who disappeared after learning his girlfriend was about to deliver. It is against the law in UAE for a woman to get pregnant out of wedlock.
