There are a handful (ha!) of different names for your testicles but how much do you actually know about them?
Here are nine things you might not have known about them.
- —The word avocado actually derives from the Aztec word for testicles.
—In the Middle Ages when people didn’t know stuff, men would often chop off their left testicle if they wanted a son, as they thought their right testicle held male sperm (while the left one held female).
—In Roman times, men placed their right hand on their balls before giving testimony in court, the reason being having testicles supposedly made them whole (as opposed to women and eunuchs who were not allowed to testify).
