Chadian army kills over 100 Boko Haram terrorists

At least 100 militants have been killed in an operation launched a
fortnight ago against Boko Haram jihadists holed up in the islands of
Lake Chad, the Chadian army said in a statement Friday.

"117 terrorists have been killed, two Chadian soldiers died and two
others were wounded" in the operation, said army spokesman Colonel
Azem Bermendoa Agouna, adding the operation was ongoing. There was no
immediate confirmation of the toll by an independent source.
