The management of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has stated that a total of 5,661 candidates out of the 9,966 students who sat for the post- UTME screening test failed, the examination.

In a statement by the Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Relations of the institution, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, the candidates, representing 56.8 per cent, scored less than 50 per cent in the exercise.
Adebanjo said that the 4,305 candidates who passed the examination will compete for the 2,834 admission spaces in the university.
He added that Okon Imaabasi (Biochemistry) and Isichei Kenneth (Mechanical Engineering) emerged the best candidates, as each of them scored more than 90 per cent in the examination.
